AFTERCARE
REMEMBER - TOOTH GEMS ARE NOT PERMANENT. THEY MAY LAST ANYWHERE FROM 1 MONTH, TO 2+ YEARS! LONGEVITY IS VERY DEPENDENT ON YOUR AFTERCARE, SO MAKE SURE TO READ AND FOLLOW THE ADVICE!
-
DON'T TOUCH!!
Don’t touch or play excessively with your gem.
It will probably feel like something foreign in your mouth at first, but that feeling will soon subside
-
Don't Eat for 2 hours
Don’t eat for TWO HOURS after application.
This includes chewing gum.
For the next 12 hours, it’s advised that you eat softer, non-chewy foods on the opposite side of your mouth to your gems.
-
drinking, kissing & smoking
You may kiss, drink and smoke immediately after application.
Mouthwash is okay to use too.
-
don't brush for 12 hours
Don’t brush your teeth for 12 hours after.
It is advised to use a soft bristled toothbrush, and be mindful how hard you are brushing, to help your gem last as long as possible.
-
keep up with your oral hygeine
Keep up with your regular oral hygiene.
Remember that saffron rich foods, red wine, coffee and cigarettes can stain your teeth, and can therefore also stain the dental bond.
This is why good dental hygiene is key.
-
visit your dentist for removal
Do not remove your gems or dental bond by yourself.
Tooth gems are completely reversible, and can be removed at your dentist with a simple scale and polish.
If you lose a gem, please ask your dentist to remove the bond before reapplication if there is any left on the tooth.
